Triple J Unearthed Success For TPN VET Students

We love hearing success stories from young and upcoming musicians, especially our TPN students. Now two VET Music Year 12 groups from Emmanuel College in Warrnambool have been having quite a bit of success on Triple J Unearthed, with one receiving national airplay and local media coverage.

‘The Mellows’ rose to no.1 on the Unearthed ‘High’ Charts, reaching no.5 in the open charts, only to be slightly outshadowed by classmates ‘Say Please’ (pictured). The band comprises of Angela Kenna, Eli Slater, bassist Max Bysouth, guitarist Lachlan Massey-Slee and keyboardist Tim McLeod, and it’s their track Waves that has received chart acclaim online and radio airplay on Triple J’s breakfast program. Recorded as part of the Kool Skools project, the track appears on the compilation Backyards (launched recently at Warrnambool’s Lighthouse Theatre) and has risen as high as no.3 in the Unearthed ‘High’ charts/competition.
