COSAMP has become its own Registered Training Organisation (RTO)!
As of July 2016 COSAMP is now a Registered Training Organisation in its own right and will be directly auspicing VET in Schools Music Industry programs from the beginning of 2017. Across the rest of 2016, the team will be moving away from the ACAS (Australian Centre for Advanced Studies) Member College arrangement and will be directly managing RTO systems and processes including school auspice arrangements, student enrolments and Certificate issuance.
This has been part of the COSAMP plan for many years, with the formal process starting in early 2015 as part of the planning for the forthcoming new CUA training package. It was one of the key outcomes in COSAMP’s review of how to best continue providing service to the growing network of schools nationally and for many of us was the logical next step in the process. Following the application to ASQA in February 2016, the official Certificate of Registration and listing on training.gov.au came through in mid July.
The official RTO name is PKY Media Pty Ltd (as has been the incorporated company name since 2009). As listed on training.gov.au, PKY Media Pty Ltd trades as the “College of Sound and Music Production” with the trademarked name “COSAMP”.
Everyone at COSAMP wishes to acknowledge the excellent support provided by the team at ACAS over the past 7 years. As a small not-for-profit organisation, ACAS do a fantastic job of managing their member colleges and thousands of students. Their collaboration and support has made the delivery of so many auspiced VET music qualifications in COSAMP member schools possible.
